I. Jón Jónsson (John Johnson), a twin born in New Iceland on Dc.19.1877, left New Iceland with his parents at the age of three and grew up for the most part in the Argyle Settlement where he attended school and trained as a machine operator. - On Dc.14.1898, John married Guðrún A… of the Brú district. Born near Gimli on Jl.16.1879, Guðrún was the daughter of S… A… and S… E… (see Bræðraborg - Gimlunga I). She had come to the Argyle Settlement with her parents as an infant and grown up in the Brú district with her father and stepmother. - John and Guðrún Johnson first farmed in the Brú district, then operated a lumber camp at Stratton, Ontario…etc. John was killed in a steam threshing accident in 1917. Guðrún then worked as a dressmaker in Cypress River until 1926 when she moved to Winnipeg... etc. She died at the home of her daughter at age 89 on Sp.5.1968, and was buried at Bru. A) Sigurður ‘Sam’ Johnson, born at Bru on Jl.7.1906 (d.1965), owned a service station in Winnipeg. His wife, Sigríður ‘Sarah’ Benson, was born in Winnipeg in on Jl.17.1904, the daughter of Björn Brynjólfsson from Skjöldólfsstaðir in Breiðdalur and his wife, Guðrún Jónsdóttir, who emigrated from Vopnafjörður in 1903 and settled in Winnipeg etc… Sam and Sarah Johnson’s family:
1. Harold Johnson (b.Jl.21.1922 in Wpg. d.1983), contractor, Apple Valley, Calif., m: Diane Smith from Winnipeg.
